Our Principles
Freedom
Freedom is the foundation of our organisation, and only the notion of the common good can limit its scope. People freely join us and cooperate to achieve our mission. Our people are free to make their own decisions and take risks, they have a freedom of initiative. We empower our people to be creative and innovative.
Equality
All people are considered equal. The only distinction between people is the hierarchy of offices, which is based on the common good and results from voluntary authority and subordination. All deliberations are based on the principle of equality: one person, one vote.
Solidarity
We practice solidarity and mutual aid. We assist, help and protect each other in all circumstances. We extend solidarity and mutual aid to the immediate family of all partners, members and workers. It includes material, intellectual and moral solidarity (e.g., allocating any aid in kind or cash, providing information and assistance, education grants, or supporting mutual aid foundations).
Transparency
We are a transparent organisation. Anyone, working at our organisation, has equal rights to access, itself or through their delegates, to the organisation information, financial and non-financial. Anyone has the right to ascertain the need for contributions to the organisation shared costs, to consent to those freely, to monitor their use, and to determine their amount, basis, collection and duration.
Voluntary
We seek the fullest development of individuality combined with the fullest development of voluntary association in all its aspects, in all possible degrees, for all the missions we voluntarily accept. There is no fixed and permanent authority. There is a constant exchange of mutual, temporary and, above all, voluntary authority and subordination. We elect delegates to represent us. Everyone leads and is led in turn.
Participation
We trust that participation, or the process of providing equal opportunities for participation to all people working at ariska, leads to greater understanding and cooperation. We promote the social conditions in which people opinion and full people participation in decision-making become, as far as possible, the means by which the organisation is ordered.
Harmony
We trust that harmony results from an ever-changing adjustment of the balance between the multitude of non-violent forces and influences expressed in a complex network made up of an infinite variety of groups composed of freely associated diverse individuals. We respect and value all opinions. We respect each other, we do not quarrel. We speak in non-violent ways and choose our words carefully so as not to offend.
